About Us

With approximately 1,300 fruit trees, our orchard offers many unique varieties. A fruit orchard for over 150 years, this orchard is a landmark in the Sherwood area under its former name Oliphant Orchards, and current name (as of 2005).

The season typically begins in early July with Sweet Cherries and continues with Pie Cherries, Plums, Prunes, Apples, Pears, and Quince through October or as long as we have fruit. We do not ship any fruit.

From Portland: Take 99W south towards Newberg through Sherwood. We are 1/2 mile past the intersection with 99W and Sunset Blvd/Elwert Rd. on the right-hand side. You will see our sign "Sherwood Orchards" and we are the driveway just before the sign.

***BRING YOUR OWN CONTAINERS TO PICK INTO AND TAKE YOUR FRUIT HOME IN! Reusable grocery tote bags or buckets work best for picking into. We also have preweighed buckets to pick into.
***WE DO NOT PROVIDE ANY WAGONS HERE SO PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN!

FAQ-FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS/picking GUIDELINES
Picking times
PLEASE ARRIVE AT LEAST 1 HOUR BEFORE CLOSING TIME TO PICK. Our orchards close 1 hour before closing to new pickers.
What forms of payment do you accept?
*****We accept CASH, CHECKS, CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS, OR WIC VOUCHERS
Are pets allowed?
NO, we do NOT allow pets in our orchard, due to Food Safety Regulations. We thank you for leaving your furry family member at home. We do allow service animals.
Is there anything I need to bring with me for picking?
Please bring your own containers to both pick into and bring your fruit home- Reusable grocery tote bags or buckets are preferrable. We do have some preweighed buckets to pick into.
Also we recommend you wear sturdy shoes, and not sandals or flip flops as our ground is very uneven.
IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN WITH YOU...
We welcome families, but please remember :
**They must stay with a parent or guardian AT ALL TIMES
**No eating or picnicking on property
**PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN STROLLER OR WAGON WITH YOU. WE DO NOT PROVIDE ANY WAGONS!
Do you allow ladders?
No, we do NOT allow any ladders on our orchard. We DO NOT allow anyone to climb our trees in order to pick the fruit. We DO provide pickers for you to pick that perfect fruit just out of your reach! We appreciate your respect for these important safety rules.
Do you do field trips, groups, or events?
NO , we do NOT accommodate groups or events here at Sherwood Orchards.
Are you an organic or a no spray orchard?
No, we are a conventional orchard, but also use Integrated Pest Management. We apply crop protectants to provide for the best quality fruit for you and your family.
NO SMOKING
Absolutely NO SMOKING allowed on the property. Even while parked and not in the orchard. There is too much risk for a fire here, thank you for understanding.
